Crayon Roll

I've been wanting to make a crayon roll for awhile now.  One of my friend's little girl had a birthday so I decided to try coming up with something for her.

 I like that every crayon has its own little place.

And its easy to roll up...

And ties shut with some elastic and a cute button so little hands can do it all by themselves.

Ruffled Clutch

This little clutch has been my go to for a quick and easy present or just something to sew when time is short but I feel the "need" to sew something.

You can add pockets, dividers or leave it blank inside and they are still great.

I made them a couple years ago for my Moms for Mother's Day.  (here!)

I've filled them with essential baby medicine and given them as baby shower presents.

I've even given them with nothing in them and they are still just great.  If you haven't made one, you really should. :)

My first Contest!

So as I was laying wide awake at 5:00 this morning, random thoughts kept coming.  Thoughts about what cleaning needs to be done and of what I want the girls' Easter dresses to look like (and that they will hopefully get done in time) and what we should name our little one and ...just lots going on in my head right now.  I blame it on being super anxious for this little baby to come.  So the crazy idea came to mind that it would be fun to have a contest on my blog to see who can guess when this baby will come.  What is a contest if you can't win anything...other than having the bragging rights that you guessed right.

So this morning I made this little notebook cover. 

Of course there needed to be some ruffles and a bit of pink.  :)

The book is simply a composition book inside. 

To enter the contest you just need to leave a comment with the following:

1. What date the baby will come.
2. What gender the baby will be.
3. And just for fun, how much will the baby weigh.

I'll give you a few hints so that you're not completely in the dark.  My due date is April 27th.  I've had 3 ultrasounds and we have no idea what the gender is.  The baby moves like crazy if that makes a difference.  (?)  My girls weighed 6 lbs 15 oz and 6 lbs 9 oz.  I've gained exactly the same amount of weight (but feel like my belly is stretched more than ever.)

When I first started this blog I mentioned a few different things that I thought were cool.  Of course my list of "have to do someday" has grown.  Here are some more things that I would like to make someday.

I got a sweet deal on a super cute table cloth from Target. I'm going to make some changing pads similar to the tutorial here.  Jill from Homemade by Jill made this tutorial for Celebrate the Boy month.

I saw this dress on Shabby Apple's website and the first thing I thought was "I could totally make that."  We'll see how it turns out.  If this dress wasn't $72 I might consider just buying it...oh wait...no I wouldn't...I'm far to cheap for that. :)

I finally found some watch bands so I can make some of these.  Tutorial found here. 

So those are some of the things that are on my mind.  Now I just need to find the time to do them.  I'm trying to get my house cleaned out and getting ready to start packing in the next month or so.  The move is getting closer and I can't wait.  :)

Wipe Cover

It seems like there is always someone in my life that is having a baby.  It's hard to get everyone a gift and still have food on the table.  :)  I'm sure you've seen the little wipey cases every where but I've made tons of them in the last 6 months or so.  Unfortunately I lost all of my pictures off of my camera card so this is the only one that I have pictures of.  I made it yesterday and it seriously only takes about 30 minutes top.  (My kind of project.)

They're really simple to do.  Just get a wipe case and trace around the edges of the front and the back and then add a couple inches so that your material will cover the edges of your wipe case.  Trace the top of the case again and use that pattern to cut batting for the top of your case.  Now just use your super handy hot glue gun and put the batting and the material on.  Cover your edges with some ribbon and you're done.  Super easy huh.  You can go here for a more in depth tutorial because I'm sure that was super confusing but I have a baby who has a death grip on my leg and is crying "momma, momma...baba!"

More Aprons!

My sweet niece, Hadlee, had a birthday back in February.  I seem to always be in a rush trying to finish my presents that I forget to take pictures.  Luckily my sweet sister Andy helped me out and they had a little photo shoot today!

Tool Belt

One of my nephews turned 2 this weekend.  He loves tools and usually has a screwdriver in his hand (banging on furniture or his sweet sister).

Every little carpenter needs a tool belt.  Here's what I came up with.  I made it out of canvas.  It's actually pretty sturdy.  Each pouch has 2 pockets to store "things" in.  (My little girl said that she would put lip gloss and her wand in the pockets.)  Plus it has a loop for a hammer.
