Want this Wednesday

So this isn't going to be a crafty post but life has been crazy lately.  I've been cleaning closets, cooking like a mad woman, changing stinky buns and well you get the picture.  My crafty time is usually after the girls go to bed at night but instead, I've been hanging out with my husband.  One reason for my blog being a little on the lame side.

Anyway...have you ever needed a recipe that is a Home Run every time and is super easy?  Well, I think I've found one to add to my list.  My husband loves this and so do the rest of us.  I found it on My Kitchen Cafe and I'll have to say that I'm in love. :)  Here's a link to the recipe.  You have to try it.  It's called BBQ Chicken Braid.  It's super easy and doesn't take long but it looks like you've spent hours on it.  Plus it feels good to make something completely from scratch.

Just look at this...how can you resist?

The recipe calls for onions but I left them out because we aren't big onion lovers.

As Rachel Ray would say, "That's whats for dinner!"

Happy Wednesday!

Sale in My Shop!

Mother's Day is coming up in a couple of weeks and if you're like me, it's hard to come up with something that represents just how much you love your mother.  I have a hard time every year.  Do you have the same problem?  What about getting her an apron?  What mother wouldn't love to have an apron?  That's why starting today until Friday, April 30th, I'll be having a sale in my shop!  All aprons are $5 off.  If you see something but would like it in a different color, please let me know.  I'm going to get some more pictures up of a few other styles that I've made so make sure you check back.  :)  I was hoping to have more pictures taken but these wild children and husband of mine need my attention too I guess.

More Aprons!

My sweet niece, Hadlee, had a birthday back in February.  I seem to always be in a rush trying to finish my presents that I forget to take pictures.  Luckily my sweet sister Andy helped me out and they had a little photo shoot today!

Isn't she sweet? And she looks so grown up!

Thanks for the pics Andy!

Soon I'll get more pictures of another kids apron that I made for another niece.  :)

Want this Wednesday

Petey keeps asking if we have any boy games to play.  We've tried to play transformers and dinosaurs but every time Joselyn says, "You be the dad and I'll be the mom!"  So it ends up playing a girl game.  When I asked Petey if he would like a cape, his eyes lit up and he got so excited.  So cape making I went and I think they were a hit.

They were great for running in the wind.  (Which is blowing really hard today...go figure.)
And we even had fun just standing with our baby! :)

"Look!  We're super heros!"..."Look!  I can fly!"

So now we have a boy game...well until Joselyn decides to play that she is the mommy superhero and Petey is the daddy superhero.  Gotta love girls. :)

Happy Wednesday!

Fluffy Container

I keep all of my measuring spoons and dippers and spatula's and just basically a bunch of cooking "stuff" in one drawer.  Slowly it has moved to two drawers and now I don't have much room for my towels and bibs.  We just finished our peanut butter so I decided to put the container to use.  This is what I did.

You could use any type of container really.  This was just handy...although it wasn't too fun cleaning all of the left over peanut butter out.  It really is "creamy"! :)

I didn't have any yellow material so I used this old shirt that had a stain on it.  (Sorry Andy...I had to cut it...I promise that I wore it tons.)  You could use paper too but I didn't have any yellow paper that was big enough to cover the container.

I just used a hot glue gun and glued the material onto the peanut butter container.  You could use Mod Podge too...that would work great but I'm a cheap butt and don't want to use that stuff on just anything. :)

After I finished putting the material around the container, I glued some flowers around in a random fashion. Here's what the finished project looked like.

It's a little frilly but it will work for now.  It's great to actually be able to shut my drawer now!  :)

The Phantom of the Opera...

My sister's prom is this weekend.  The prom theme is Music of the Night.  I took my long satin gloves that I wore to prom when I was in high school and sewed a couple lines using my elastic thread (which I think is super amazing and fun to sew with) and it gathered the gloves up.

Then there was the mask.  I'm not sure if I absolutely love it but I do like it.  I just keep telling myself that it will be dark and that everyone will be looking at how beautiful Whitney will look in her dress and the mask won't really matter.

I used Mod Podge for the first time and now I know what everyone has been talking about...Mod Podge does Rock!  I was shocked at how good it worked.  I covered the mask with some sparkly material that I cut from an old top of mine that I bought just because I liked the skirt that came with it...also from high school.

We rumaged around through my mom's craft room to find the rest of the stuff.  (Someday I'll have a craft room and have stuff to put in it.)
At least I know that Joselyn likes it. She thought it was cool to get to hold it.

Want This Wednesday

Awhile back one of my good friends had a really cute shirt on that she got from J. Crew.  I can't seem to find a picture of it so you'll just have to take my word for it but it was put on my want list right away.

Here's my copy cat of it.  I took a simple shirt that I got from Shade Clothing for $3 and put some ribbon and lace on it and came out with this:

I just randomly looped the ribbon and stitched it abit.

And I did the same to the back and then just tied it.

The pictures aren't that great but with these wild kids...they'll just have to do for now.

Joselyn wanted to take a picture of me.  Excuse the crazy hair...nope, I didn't fix it today and it feels great!

Happy Wednesday!

Thank You!

Last Thursday was my last day of work.  They took me to lunch and had me a little party.  There are so many good people that I'm going to miss.  Look at the fun stuff that I got.

I'm a lucky girl!  If anyone is looking at finishing or starting their degree online, visit Adams State Extended Studies.  Even if you just want to take a few classes with them to transfer to a different college...you should just check them out.  :)

When I first had Macey, I was welcomed home one night to find the most perfectly shaped loaf of bread sitting in my house.  Hard to imagine but it tasted TEN TIMES better than what it looked like.  My good friend Sandee made it for us.  I remember Kevin practically drooling over how good it was.

Sandee's helped with many of our church parties.  She pays a lot of attention to detail and the presentation of the food and it always tastes great.  She has a blog called Sweet & Simple if you want to see some of the stuff that she's done.  I'm just warning you...if you're hungry or on a diet...her food will tempt you.

Like this fruit pizza....

Or this Black Forest Cake...

Or what about this Strawberry Triffle?

Yummy huh!

If you know someone who needs a wedding cake or event catered...have them contact Sandee.

Consider yourself Warned! :)

Life will be a little crazy the next couple of months as I'll be babysitting a neice and nephew along with my crazy girls.  I'm going to blog as much as possible but my main priority will be the kids.  (Imagine that!)  Please be patient (my one reader!) with me as I try to juggle and get used to this new life style of mine...which I'm loving!

Awhile back she did these plates:

Go here for her tutorial!

Those circles are just the circle labels.  So cute, easy and clever.  I'm a sucker for black and white so of course I was drawn to this.

And check out these Subway Art pictures:

Want This Wednesday

I don't know what it is about pearls but I think they are great!

They look so Lovely

Even though I love how pearls look, I always feel super fancy when I wear them and I haven't been invited to any proms or balls lately so I just don't wear them much.  But today I wanted to for some strange reason.  Here's what I came up with:

It was super easy. I just took some sheer ribbon and randomly wrapped or tucked it around a pearl. I just used thread and stitched the ribbon to the pearls to make a strand. Next time I would like to make one using a satin ribbon. Super easy necklace.

Happy Wednesday!

Ruffles Skirt

I made this skirt from a women's dress that I bought for $3 at Wal Mart.  It was super easy.  There was enough fabric to make 2 skirts plus left over random strips of material.

How can you resist these little piggies?
